BUDGET PREPERATION GUIDELINES
Overview

The line item grant request budget and budget narrative are two important components of your grant application. These budget components assist the Foundation in understanding the revenues and expenses associated with the proposed program or project and how the requested funds will be allocated toward the program or project. All organizations interested in submitting a grant request to the Brentwood Foundation will need to complete and submit a line-item budget form with their request in order for it to be considered for funding support. Line-Item Budget
The following information should serve as a guide to assist you in completing the line-item budget and budget narrative.
  • Include all revenues and expenses associated with the proposed program or project
  • Revenues should be categorized as either committed or anticipated
  • Revenues must equal expenses
  • Do not include in-kind support in projected revenue totals
  • A separate budget form must be completed for each full or partial year of a multi-year grant request
